Welcome to the 2023 season! Work has been underway over the last few months as we prepare for another exciting year of Little League Baseball and Softball. The purpose of this email is to share important dates and information leading up to our opening day parade. But first, TriBoro Little League would like to welcome our newest member, Cecilia Hriczov to the Board. Cecilia will assume the role of Fundraising Manager. It goes without saying
how important this position is to the financial health of our program. Cecilia, thank you for volunteering and for your contributions to TBLL!
As a direct result of the support we receive through fundraising, we’ve been able to make several capital improvements to Anderson Field every year. In 2022, in addition to the cost of hosting the 10U NJ state baseball finals, we replaced an aging HVAC system in the snack stand/clubhouse, upgraded the entire sprinkler system, replaced the padding along the backstop with our TB logo, purchased a weighted home-plate cover and seal coated the entire property. On our list this year, so far, will be to replace the staircase at the clubhouse and upgrade the nets along the 1st and 3rd baselines.
Over on the softball field at Walter T Bergen, we had a custom shed built to store the field grooming tools, added shade canopies to the dugouts, purchased a weighted home plate cover and installed a net along the 1st baseline to catch foul balls headed for the woods. We are committed to improving the fields and facilities each year and all the support we receive allows us the opportunity to do so.
In 2023, you’ll notice when you register for Baseball, that the 8-year-olds are now in Minors Baseball. That is not an error. TriBoro made the decision to align our baseball divisions with Little League International and move the 8’s up. NO CHANGES TO THE T-BALL and SOFTBALL AGES. As a reminder the age determination date for a LL Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year. The age determination date for a LL Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year. Moving forward the baseball divisions for TriBoro Little League will be structured as such:
Instructional: 6 & 7’s
Minors: 8-9 &10’s
Majors: 11 & 12’s
Juniors: 13 & 14’s
Senior: 15 & 16's
